Grieve with Me

The word "grieve" in all caps. The background has a doodle of a puddle with a droplet of water creating a ripple and an eye crying.
Grieve - original artwork

You can’t go somewhere new without leaving where you’re at.

No matter how terrible a place is, there’s always something there that you’ll miss. If it was good, the missing is infinite.

Every place that we touch touches us. Transforms us.

We make an imprint on one another, so leaving is always a challenge. It can feel like abandoning a piece of yourself. It kicks up sweet memories that lead to bitter sadness. You contemplate staying because leaving it all behind feels unbearable. Impossible.

You breathe.

And then think of all the places you want to go to and the new things you want to see. So you pack your bags and head out with a heart half heavy and half light. It’s okay for the tears to fall; they make space for the impending joy.

Just before the old place fades out of view, look back.

Grieve with me.

Feel Good with Me

Birds flying high, you know how I feel. Sun in the sky, you know how I feel. Breeze drifting on by, you know how I feel. It’s a new dawn....
